This Christmas Toolbox Group made a donation to local mental health charity Suffolk Mind
Like many companies last year, we were not able to have the same Christmas festivities as we normally would. So we decided to put the money that would have been spent on our Christmas celebrations to good use.
We chose to spread festive cheer and goodwill by supporting Suffolk Mind. The local mental health charity, affiliated to the national Mind network, provides essential services supporting those with mental health problems, and helping people to stay well.
“Mental Health is more important than ever during the coronavirus pandemic and managing emotional needs can be extremely challenging. The team at Suffolk Mind do a fantastic job to support the people in our community and we wanted to do our bit to help too.” said Michelle Buxton, CEO of Toolbox Group.
Our donation will go towards funding an outdoor structure at Montrose House, Suffolk Mind’s residential care home. The supported accommodation provides personal care and support for people that have suffered from severe and enduring mental ill health.
The social distancing restrictions have meant that residents have been unable to see their friends and family inside the accommodation and some group activities have not been able to take place. This has been particularly problematic during the colder months when it is cold and wet outside. The outdoor structure will provide a warm shelter which means residents can enjoy social distanced gatherings with their nearest and dearest.
Amanda Sturgeon, Corporate Fundraising Manager said: “We can’t thank the Toolbox Group enough for this fantastic donation towards a structure for our residential care home, Montrose House. It will enable residents there to safely enjoy much needed time with their loved ones, as and when it is safe to do so and lockdown rules allow. This will help them to meet important emotional needs such as community and emotional connection.”
