Mallcomm has been named Proptech Innovator of the Year at the Property Awards 2022. Organised by Property Week, the annual awards recognise and celebrate achievements across the full spectrum of the property industry. 

The win saw Mallcomm beat strong, national competition and recognised the company’s drive to innovate and grow globally. 

Adoption of the Mallcomm digital platform more than doubled in 2021 with the technology now in use across 650 shopping centres spanning 400 million sq ft across the world. Strategic partnerships have been key to this success, including deals with Shopcore Properties in the US, Nuveen and APG in the UK, and Liberty Two Degrees in South Africa.

Primarily accessed via a smartphone app, the platform enables 24/7 real-time communication and data sharing, which drives operational efficiencies, improves the customer experience and supports placemaking. Recent innovations include features which allow users to monitor sales data and analyse energy performance.

The bespoke app has also helped the retail sector to bounce back from the pandemic, enabling landlords, tenants, property managers and local authorities to work more collaboratively, implement social distancing, and enhance engagement.
